High Resolves program

13/03/2015

In response to the Year 8 program students reflected with comments like:

"I want to remember what I learnt about justice and what I learnt about fair trade and I want to help those families. I want to be a leader."
"I want to remember how there are people in the world less fortunate than us and need our help."
"I want to be a leader. I want to make a difference. I want to remember what people on a low wage go through every day."
Your student is being invited to learn more about what they can do in our community, and the global community, to be a leader and make a difference. The Global Leadership Program involves a variety of activities during Year 9. An intensive two-day program in Term One engages students in developing their conflict resolution skills as well as their ability to get large groups of people to engage in collective action.

Students then go on to plan and deliver an action project. During this part of the program, students benefit from the guidance of mentors through numerous workshops and attend an annual leadership summit.

Last year, a program called the High Resolves Initiative was delivered to students at the school. The High Resolves Initiative comprises a Global Citizenship Program for all Year 8 students and also the Global Leadership Program for Year 9.
