Cleveland hosts political forum

Bowman candidates at the forum

More than 50 people attended the election forum which was hosted by the Film Television and  New Media students at Cleveland District State High School in the new teleconferencing centre on the 28 August.  Attendees listened to the five Bowman candidates speak on issues as diverse as paid-parental leave, local government recognition, foreign aid, gambling reform and a sugar tax.

Bayside Bulletin editor Brian Hurst moderated the hour-and-a-half-long forum which gave the candidates two minutes to present their party policies before questions from readers.

The event was filmed by Cleveland High  past and present students, Logan, Jayden and Daniel.  The highlights of the night are broadcasted on the Bayside Bulletin multimedia site.

A big thank you to our students and staff members Mr Cass and Mr van der Winden who did an outstanding job on the night.  This production is a fine example of students gaining valuable experience in real life media events.
