Staff and students of Cleveland District State High School would like to invite you to become involved in our school community. Below are some of the areas that you may wish to become involved, the contact person and their direct phone number. Please feel free to phone the contact person directly or alternatively complete the Reply Form (indicating your interests) and return to the school with your child’s Enrolment Forms.

Canteen - This operates on a four weekly cycle. If you are able to assist in our canteen, please indicate your availability by completing the Reply Form included with the Enrolment Forms.

Learning Assistance Program (LAP) - Members of the community are invited to assist the Learning Support Unit and or Special Education Unit in the following ways: in class support in many areas from Art to Manual Arts, Home Economics to Agriculture, assisting students with assignments and basic literacy and numeracy and/or enrichment programs.

Library - Volunteers assist in the library by covering books and completing general duties.
Teacher Librarian - Helen Vukovic/Aleyne Cameron (Phone 3824 9224).

Cleveland High Instrumental Music Programme Supporters (CHIMPS) - Volunteers assist with the development of the music programme in the following ways - resource preparation and construction, uniforms, steering committee for major events, assist with production of concerts, coordination and facilitation of major fundraising to purchase major resources.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) - Community members are invited to attend at least one meeting as a minimum during the year. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month in R Block.
President P&C – Lawrie Hardwick (messages may be left at the school).

School Council - School Council meets once a month with a broad representation of parents, students and other members of our school community. These meetings are held on the third Monday of each month in R Block starting at 4.00pm and concluding at 5.30pm. Dates of meetings are advertised in the February newsletter.

School Planning Committees – meet on a Wednesday afternoon from 3.00pm to 4.00pm (approximately once a month).

Chaplaincy – The whole Chaplaincy programme is community funded and supported by donations. Members of the community are invited to attend meetings, join a prayer group, assist with fund raising help with in-school activities, become a voluntary religious education teacher or represent Chaplaincy at the P&C meetings.
