156 students from Cleveland District State High School participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition this year. This competition has been running since 1978 and is the largest event of its kind in Australia. It is now a significant international event and last year there were well over 400,000 entries from nearly 4000 schools in more than 30 countries.
Once again Cleveland High students performed exceptionally well with both Millie Macdonald (Yr 9) and David Hammond (Yr 12) achieving the 99th percentile. In total we received 5 High Distinctions, 22 Distinctions and 72 Credits.

Vanuatu Mission Tour - a Great Success |

Last month, 15 students and 2 staff members joined Chaplains Neale and Sarah on Cleveland High’s second Vanuatu Mission Tour. After the first trip in December 2006, plans were made to do some special projects at the Pango Primary School just outside the capital, Port Vila. This year the group stayed in the YWAM mission base which allowed the village children to ‘hang out’ with the team. This led to some great friendships being formed. |
