We have a number of important events before the end of term for which we would appreciate parent/guardian support and interest.
The Australian Geography Competition open to Years 8 - 12 will take place on Monday 31/3/08 during periods 6 and 7 in E2/E3. There is a list of entrants on E Block noticeboard near the staffroom. All students should report to the classrooms with pencils and erasers
Excursions for Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 for which we would appreciate prompt return of permission forms and payment. (Any problem with payments, please do not hesitate to call me on 3824 9213.) These include:
• Yr 9 History and Yrs 11&12 Ancient History to the University of Qld Antiquities Museum on Friday 28 March
• Yr10 SOSE Excursion (all students) on Tuesday April 1, 1) to North Stradbroke Island studying coastal landforms. This is essential for their assessment item in this elective, or b) to the city and Military Museum for the History unit of Australians at War.
This will mean that normal lessons for Yr 10s will not go ahead at school as so many students will be on the excursions. There will be supervised sessions only, with students working on alternative assessment items
It is very important these students return their forms and money by Thursday 27 March.
• In Term 2 the Year 12 Geography and some international and Tourism students are booked for an excursion to Couran Cove Resort on South Stradbroke Island on Tuesday April 22nd.Parents/guardians of geography students should have already received information concerning this field trip. It is essential for their report writing. for Tourism students it will be useful for their VET competencies and current unit of Eco- tourism.
