The Redlands YouthBiz Business Plan Competition was developed by the Redland Shire Council. The competition is designed to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, in an atmosphere that is fun. While it is competitive, the real focus is on the development of ideas and dreams – and working out how to make these become a reality. The competition is open to students in Years 10, 11 and 12.
On Saturday 18 August fifteen of our Gifted and Talented Year 8 students participated in the Brisbane South Optiminds Challenge. These students formed three groups, two of which competed in the Language Literature category and the other competing in the Science Engineering category.
On Friday 17 August, Cleveland District State High School students and staff embraced their inaugural Multicultural Festival.
Passports entitled students to sample foods and to record their participation in sports, music and other activities from the various cultures represented in the school community. Indigenous culture was celebrated throughout the afternoon, with the traditional owners of the land also being recognised with the Welcome to Country to launch the activities.
