There are many and varied extra-curricular activities offered to students at Cleveland District State High School. These activities present opportunities for students to reach their potential beyond the classroom.
 Leadership
The school is always well served by our student leaders. Four school captains, and the Student Council Executive form the main leadership team. These students represent the school at various functions throughout the year, are an important link between staff and students as well as organising student activities.
Student Council
The Middle School Student Council and the Senior School Student Council consist of a representative from each home group from Years 8-12. The Councils are the voice of the students and a platform for student opinions and suggestions for improving student life at Cleveland District State High School. Every month the Middle School and Senior School Student Councils meet and discuss issues concerning the students of the school and to plan Council events/activities.
Year 8 Student Representative
Two or three Year 12 students are attached to every Year 8 home group. These students have the important responsibility of helping the Year 8’s feel welcome and safe at high school. The Year 12 students must complete Student Harassment Referral Officer training, attend the Year 7 Orientation Day and the Year 8 Fun and Friendship Camp.
