Bayside Soccer Academy PDF Print E-mail

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Bayside Soccer Academy is to operate a youth development academy that provides opportunities for adolescents to develop soccer career pathways to international standard.

Aims of the Bayside Soccer Academy include

  • Raising the standards of players, referees, coaches, managers and sports medicine practitioners in Australian soccer from the local level to an international level.
  • Providing equal opportunities for both boys and girls.
  • Improving the quality of training and education provided in soccer for youths throughout the region and ultimately Australia.
  • Increasing the level of interest, participation and development of youths in our local soccer communities.
  • Through soccer, develop young people into responsible, healthy and active members of society.
  • To produce young male and female players of the standard required to compete at an elite or professional level either in Australia or overseas.

Benefits received from being a member of Bayside Soccer Academy

  • Coach to player ration of 1:8 as a minimum (there is no fee for coaching).
  • Quality coaching utilising the latest international programs, which are backed by University research, such as the England Football Association Youth Academy Development Program.
  • Regular assessment of progress in the Bayside Soccer Academy Program with feedback and certification from overseas including the England Football Association.
  • Qualifications in various soccer career pathways, including refereeing, coaching, sport management and sports medicine.
  • Taught the values of training, preparation and good work ethics in achieving their full potential on and off the field.
  • Compete in various competitions from local level to international level.
  • Have the opportunity to pursue a number of soccer career pathways by touring nationally and internationally with the potential to be identified by elite and professional organisations and teams.
  • A range of equipment and clothing associated with the Bayside Soccer Academy (this is fee related).

How does the Bayside Soccer Academy Operate?

  • The Academy will cater for up to 160 members each year through 4 squads of boys and 4 squads of girls across 4 different age groups. These squads will compete in a variety of competitions from local competitions through to international competitions.
  • Senior squads will participate in the specialised “Advanced Soccer Principles” class where they will study and gain qualifications in all aspects of soccer allowing them to follow particular soccer career pathways.
  • The Bayside Soccer Academy operates in an autonomous capacity as it is not controlled by any official organisation or governing body, rather as a unique program of Cleveland District State High School.
  • The Academy is linked to the England Football Association to implement its Youth Academy Development Program. This is integrated with other international programs to form the core of the Bayside Soccer Academy Program.
